- This is something I find really fascinating. Some guy decides to draw every road in America. The results are the coolest maps you will see for a while.
- You can not “has cheezburger”
- Spore getting it’s act together and dropping the Draconian authorization. Hurray!
- Nobody messes with dis guy…
- Not sure what is happening here.
Neat thing
With all things material, there must be a beginning. A Point we have to have so our subconscious has something tangible to hold on to. In any case it isn’t the reason any of us are here in the first place. We all wander around all day looking for a box to put stuff in.
In a virtual sense this is the box. It just appears there is nothing in the box. This is only a minor setback at the most. Indeed there is stuff. I just have not put all that crap down on paper, <Ahem>virtual or not.
Will I have a theme?
Well sure. If I keep updating this place with all the junk I find while tripping around the net, I have links to all kinds of strange and odd shinola floating on the web.
Who is this strange man enjoying a nice smoke?
That, for your ethereal pleasures, is Hunter S. Thompson. If you haven’t noticed? He’s dead. Jerry Garcia? dead. Jimi Hendrix? dead. Obviously a theme here. But hey just being breath challenged doesn’t mean you won’t make a good hero.
For one thing, the world was a much stranger place with those guys alive. So yea, it sucks not having them around.
Back to this… this virtual thing is kinda cool. I have been around the block a few times, so I am a fairly good spoter of bullshit when I see it, and lets face it, there is a lot of it on the web. You can surf a whole frickin bunch it from any of those aggregator sites.
This will, of course, not be one of those sites. This is something that I want to do in my spare time (have a lot of it these days with the job situation)
There will be a lot of references to HST, there will be a lot of references to Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead, The Band, Led Zeppelin, Jimi, Janis, Morrison… the list of a classic rock freak.
I live a simple life, probably boring to most. But I like it. I even wish I could have more of it. Ahh… but there it is, the white elephant in the room. I have no clue where this is going.. but I am enjoying the ride.
[Chorus:]
You imagine me sipping champagne from your boot
For a taste of your elegant pride
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe,
But at least I’m enjoying the ride.
At least I’m enjoying the ride.
At least I’m enjoying the ride.
Ahh The Grateful Dead. What more can I say? I am one of those freaks that followed those freaks on ad infini I went to shows all up and down the east coast, the longest run was spring tour in 1991. I only had a part time job
The music is KICK ASS. Yes. But. There is one thing worth mentioning for those who have not had a chance to listen to The Grateful Dead, make sure to listen to a live show… bootlegs all over the net people…. my personal recommendation would be spring & fall ‘72 shows in general. If you want the earlier stuff you cant go wrong with shows from ‘67-’69 Fillmore or Avalon Ballroom. One of the best parts of this whole gig, no matter what you decide to listen to, even if the dates are night after night or years apart, each show will be completely different.
